5 Easy Green Bean Recipes Even The Green Giant Would Devour
Oh My Veggies

It's the vegetable your parents probably forced you eat, you know, the one you kept moving to the side of the plate. But green beans are healthy, delicious and inexpensive to work with. Also called the string bean, 100 grams of green beans have about 31 calories, 20 per cent of your daily vitamin C intake (on a 2,000 calorie diet) and 13 per cent of your daily vitamin A.

You can eat them raw, cook them with soy sauce or throw them in the oven with seasoning. But what about canned beans? While canned beans are more convenient, Prevention notes fresh green beans have more protein, fibre and potassium than the canned stuff.
