Leave it to John Oliver to summarize the heated situation in Ferguson, Mo. in such a biting and hilarious fashion.
The host of "Last Week Tonight" unleashed a brilliant monologue Sunday that touched on issues surrounding the police shooting of Michael Brown on Aug. 9.
The shooting and subsequent violence have triggered a debate around the militarization of police departments, and forced people to question whether it's appropriate that local law enforcement be equipped like soldiers.
Oliver touched on how similar trends are appearing in other jurisdictions and offered a few tips for how to improve relations between the police and the community.
We'll leave you to discover all 15 minutes, but he wraps it up with this excellent final point:
"Let's take it all away from them, and if they can make it through a whole month without killing a single unarmed black man, then, and only then, can they get their f***ing toys back."
And people are surprised that we go to satirists for news these days?
