Talk about "tunnel vision."

Jimmy Kimmel and wife Molly McNearney decided to forgo the usual limo or luxury vehicle to get to the 2014 Primetime Emmys, taking the Los Angeles subway instead.

The comedian, who hosted the affair in 2012, posted two Instagram snaps of the pair taking the Los Angeles County Metro Rail subway on Monday night.

Posing proudly with their Metrocards, the couple boarded at the Hollywood/Highland station to head to the Nokia Theatre in L.A.. Kimmel then shared a photo of he and McNearney with the caption, "Blue line to #Emmys #Mork."

The late-night host showed off his rainbow suspenders, a tribute to the late Robin Williams' colourfully dressed character from "Mork And Mindy."

The 46-year-old teased his Twitter followers by sharing his transportation plan earlier on Monday.

The duo are also new parents to daughter Jane, who was born on July 10. McNearney wows in a a skin-toned, silver sequined column gown, in her first public appearance since Howard Stern's Birthday Bash on Jan. 31.

This marks the second time this year Kimmel has flirted with unconventional awards season travel. Back in March, the late night talk show host dressed as a chauffer to pick up Toronto mayor Rob Ford and his brother, city councillor Doug Ford, up from Los Angeles International Airport before the Oscars.

Kimmel and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" are nominated for five Primetime Emmy awards, but went home empty-handed for four of the trophies at the Creative Arts Emmys on Aug. 16. The show is also in the running for the award for Outstanding Variety Series.

McNearney also serves as the show's head writer.
