Highway 99 sinkhole snarls traffic in Richmond

A sinkhole has closed one lane of Highway 99  in Richmond, B.C., causing traffic to be backed up as crews attempt to fix it.

The section of road near to the Bridgeport exit appears to have buckled, leaving a large hole.

A team with the Ministry of Transportation has been here for several hours now trying to figure out what went wrong, examining the road from all angles to get a sense of how it seemingly caved in.

One lane of the northbound highway has been closed, although there are no diversions in place.
