Toronto police to provide details on Project Yellowbird raids

Toronto police are set to reveal details about "extremely significant amounts of property" they have recovered in a series of raids.

Police say they executed a series of warrants across the Greater Toronto Area and elsewhere on Thursday as part of an operation they have dubbed Project Yellowbird.

The raids targeted people that police allege have targeted "high-value homes" from which vehicles, jewelry and other valuables were stolen. An undisclosed number of arrests have been made.

At 2:30 p.m., police are set to hold a news conference about Project Yellowbird. Police Chief Bill Blair and Deputy Chief Peter Sloly will be speaking to the media at that time.
