Report cards to include comments, percentage grades in Nova Scotia

HALIFAX - Changes are coming to report cards for students in Nova Scotia this coming school year after some parents said they contained too much jargon and didn't shed light on how their children were faring.

Education Minister Karen Casey says there will be comment sections added for students from Primary to Grade 12 and percentage grades will be included for children in Grades 7 and 8.

Casey says the provincial government is working with school boards to make the changes.

They come after some parents complained to the government last year that they were dissatisfied with the language used in report cards.
