Man dies in hospital after brutal beating at Ossington and Bloor

The victim of a brutal beating Saturday morning near Ossington Avenue and Bloor Street West has died in hospital, Toronto Police said Sunday. 

Police have referred the case to homicide detectives. Several males were seen fleeing the area, police said. 

Paramedics found the man at the scene without vital signs at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Det-Sgt. Terry Brown said the attackers had left the victim in life-threatening condition.

Brown said police are starting to piece together what happened but are asking any witnesses with information to come forward.
