BC Place Leaking Roof Strikes Again

New Roof At BC Place Leaks. Again

The fancy new(-ish) retractable roof at BC Place in downtown Vancouver has apparently started leaking. Again.

Some fans who attended the Vancouver Whitecaps game at the stadium on Saturday were met with buckets to catch the drops at their seats.

Blogger Rebecca Bollwitt, better known as Miss604, tweeted about the experience.

Fans jokingly used the Cascadia Cup, a trophy competed for by Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland soccer teams, to catch the water:

But it wasn't all bad news!

The roof previously leaked the day before hosting the Grey Cup three years ago, according to The Province. And the maintenance for the $560-million renovation seems to be ongoing.

B.C. Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), the company that runs BC Place, said workers are dealing with "deficiencies with the fixed fabric roof," reported CBC News. The remedial work will not cost extra, PavCo added.

BC Place is set to host the Grey Cup again at the end of November.
