Fund to promote fuel efficiency among municipalities in Nova Scotia

HALIFAX - The Nova Scotia government is handing about $27,000 to an environmental group to promote the use of alternative-fuel vehicles by municipalities.

Energy Minister Andrew Younger says the Clean Foundation will work with two municipalities to help them take advantage of new, fuel-efficient technologies in their fleets.

The foundation says transportation produces about 25 per cent of the province's greenhouse gas emissions.

Once completed, the foundation will release case studies to help other organizations learn how to improve fleet efficiency.
