A Guatemalan migrant worker working and living on a farm just outside St-Lin-Laurentides, Que., has disappeared.
Now police are searching for 42-year-old Carlos Perez Tzuquen.
Perez Tzuquen left the farm, which is about half an hour north of Laval, on Wednesday evening on a red bicycle with a yellow front fork to do some shopping. His destination was six kilometres away.
Fellow temporary foreign worker Sergio Chun Chun said he and his colleagues sad and worried. They are afraid their friend has been injured.
Chun Chun said it’s not unusual for Perez Tzuquen to go off alone on his bike, but that he always comes back. they said he doesn't drink and didn't show any signs of depression.
Farm owner René Bérard said some of the worker’s colleagues knocked on his door at 2 a.m. asking for help.
He said they went looking for Perez Tzuquen but called police when they couldn’t find him.
Perez Tzuquen speaks only Spanish and has only been in the province since April.
According to a witness, he was last seen Thursday around 6:15 a.m. ET on Highway 335.
He has a young family back in Guatemala.
