Cox was in the basement and her husband was in the front yard when it happened. Their neighbours across the street were getting ready to leave, when their car then careened across the street, hit another vehicle and smashed through the front doors of her home.
"I just heard my husband screaming and just a huge bang, and debris flying," said Cox. "We just hope that [our neighbours] are okay. We feel quite bad for what she's had to go through."
Both neighbours, a husband and wife, are at hospital, but are not believed to have sustained serious injuries.
Cox said the damage is estimated between $50,000 and $100,000.
"We have some damage to our roof, we have damage to our main hallway and also to our kitchen. And obviously, the brickwork in the front yard and the garden, and the closet with all our coats is gone." said Cox. "They're speculating it's more of a concern about the structural integrity of the house."
Cox, her husband and dog will be staying with her parents in Waterloo on Sunday night.
