Organized crime-related searches ongoing in 8 communities

The New Brunswick RCMP and other police agencies are conducting searches related to organized crime in eight communities on Wednesday morning.

The RCMP said in a statement there have been “several arrests” as a result of the searches that are being conducted in southern New Brunswick.

“The searches are related to an ongoing drugs and organized crime investigation in the province,” said the RCMP in a statement.

There have also been arrests in Laval, Que., and Dartmouth, N.S.

The RCMP also said the searches are being carried out with help from the Saint John Police Force, Kennebecasis Regional Police Force and the Canada Border Services Agency.

The searches are in:

- Saint John

- Scoudouc

- Oromocto

- Moncton

- Seeleys Cove

- Springfield

- Grand Manan

- Willow Grove

The New Brunswick RCMP said further details will available on Thursday.
