Bail granted to Alberta woman accused of abducting her two daughters

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - A southern Alberta woman charged with abducting her two daughters has been granted bail.

Trina Meisel, who is 49, was released from custody on $5,000 bail late Monday afternoon after a lengthy hearing in Lethbridge provincial court.

Her bail conditions will include residing in High River under supervision, having no contact with her children and she must advise police if she's going to be leaving her residence.

The girls, ages 12 and 6, disappeared during recess from a school near Vulcan, Alta.

They were found about a week later in British Columbia unharmed after police issued an Amber Alert.

Meisel will be back in court next month for a hearing to determine if she can be held criminally responsible.
