TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (14,976.92, down 49.85 points):

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace. Up 11 cents, or 3.03 per cent, to $3.74 on 8.4 million shares.

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Up 47 cents, or 1.99 per cent, to $24.06 on 7 million shares. The company is buying Athlon Energy in a US$7.1 billion friendly takeover deal that will give the Canadian gas producer access to a major Texas oil play and speed up its shift towards more liquids production.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Up one cent, or 0.44 per cent, to $2.29 on 6.9 million shares.

BCE Inc. (TSX:BCE). Communication services. Up 63 cents, or 1.32 per cent, to $48.43 on 5.6 million shares.

Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Oil and gas. Down 46 cents, or 1.13 per cent, to $40.23 on 4.0 million shares.

Toronto-Dominion Bank (TSX:TD). Bank. Down 48 cents, or 0.87 per cent, to $54.91 on 3.6 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Down 31 cents, or 1.82 per cent, to $16.71 on 1.5 million shares. The company will supply the metal for the gold, silver and bronze medals at the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games in Toronto.The miner will be the official metal supplier and provide the raw materials for the more than 4,000 medals to be awarded.
