Onslow man, 19, facing attempted murder charge

A 19-year-old man from Onslow, N.S., is facing a charge of attempted murder after a 17-year-old was run over with a car repeatedly, according to police.

Lower Sackville RCMP were called to a home on Hilltop Drive just after 8 p.m. local time Thursday to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian

Officers found a 17-year-old suffering from severe injuries after being run over by a car.

The teen was rushed to the QEII Health Science Centre in Halifax, where he remains in hospital.

Police said the teen had been involved in an altercation at the Millbrook Power Centre that evening, which led to the victim being run over "several times."

A 19-year-old Onslow man was later arrested at his home without incident.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court on Monday to answer to the attempted murder charge.
