Prince Harry Hugs Carson Hartley At WellChild Awards Ceremony (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

Prince Harry may be fourth in line for the throne, but he became king in our hearts after he hugged a young boy at an awards ceremony honouring sick children and their helpers.

U.K. charity WellChild held its 10th annual awards with His Royal Highness in attendance at the London Hilton on Park Lane hotel on Monday.

The event was a chance for WellChild to recognize the professionals and families who assist kids living with debilitating illnesses.

Prince Harry met with all the winners prior to the ceremony and later presented the Inspirational Child 3-6 category.

One of the winners in that category was Carson Hartley, a four-year-old boy who lives with conditions such as spina bifida, brittle bones and a heart defect, and has undergone over 30 operations. He was recognized for carrying a brave and positive attitude despite his circumstances.

A truly touching moment unfolded at the awards when Prince Harry took the boy in his arms.

Another child recognized in that category was Maddison Sherwood, a six-year-old who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy and respiratory problems. She has defeated medical predictions that she might never be able to eat or speak.

Cameras also captured the prince meeting with her.

But that wasn't all.

Yet another touching moment took place when Prince Harry met with Martin Bennett, another award winner, who handed him a DVD that he said would help him when babysitting Prince George, ITV reported.

Clearly, Princess Diana's charitable spirit is alive and well in her son.
