Man shot near Warden and Eglinton

Police are investigating after a man was shot multiple times in the city’s east end early Saturday.

Officers from 41 Division were called to the area of Warden and Eglinton avenues shortly before 5 a.m., where they found a man suffering from multiple -- but not life-threatening -- injuries.

He was shot in or near the 2 Jerks Bar and Grill on Sherry Road and fled on foot to Warden, where he was found by officers, according to Insp. Richard Hegedus of Toronto Police Service. The victim is being treated in hospital.

A person involved in the shooting may have fled in a vehicle, Hegedus said.

Officers from 41 Division and the guns and gangs unit are investigating.
