Attempts to thwart Hells Angels members from spending time in Lethbridge, Alta. came to a head over the weekend.

On Saturday, police arrested two members who were sitting at a table in a restaurant, reports QMI Agency. One of the individuals was charged a second time at a different venue later that night.

The arrests came just hours after dozens of Hells Angels members rolled into Lethbridge from across Southern Alberta.

Sun News reports their arrival was a show of solidarity, after police interrupted a meeting the biker group had planned in Lethbridge last month. Cops notified bar and restaurant owners of an estimated 150 members who planned to meet on Aug. 22.

At the time, Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) spokesman Mike Tucker said it was an attempt to "disrupt their activities."

Under provincial legislation, police are able to remove criminals, gang members or gang associates from licensed establishments.

Members of the Angels, however, have accused police of "bullying" and have accused them of "overstepping their bounds."

Recent actions against the gang come months after six Hells Angels members were arrested following a series of raids around Edmonton.

It was the first time that members of the organization had faced charges of organized crime in the province.
