Calgary police and EMS have pulled the body of an elderly woman from the Bow River.

Emergency responders got the call around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, after a passerby spotted the body just east of the Centre Street Bridge.

The body was recovered on the south bank of the river.

The cause of death is not clear at this time.

Police are investigating.
