Opium seized in Montreal and Laval raids

Police have seized a kilogram of opium and arrested three men in a series of drug raids carried out in Montreal and Laval Thursday afternoon.

Around 40 officers were involved in the searches.

Three Montreal men — aged 24, 28 and 52 — were arrested and are expected to face charges of possession with intent to distribute and drug trafficking.

They will make an appearance at a Laval courthouse on Friday.  

The investigation started in May, according to Laval police.

Two private residences and a business in Laval have been searched so far.

The investigation is on going.
