Targeted Yaletown home invasion sends man to hospital

A Vancouver man has was rushed to hospital for surgery after he was stabbed several times in a home invasion at his Yaletown apartment.

Police say they were called to the apartment on Homer Street near Davie.shortly before 1 a.m. PT after receiving multiple reports a man had forced his way into the apartment.

When they arrived, the suspect had fled and the 39-year-old victim was rushed to hospital in serious condition. Police say he is expected to survive.

The victim has no criminal record, according to police, but is known to them and is believed to be associated to gangs and drugs. They're describing the incident as a targeted attack.
