It got a little wild in Revelstoke on Friday after a black bear sauntered right into the middle of town and scaled a tree.
Conservation officers and the RCMP were called in, but getting the animal down was easier said then done.
Mounties put a mattress on the back of a pickup truck to break the bear's fall and conservation officers shoot him with a tranquilizer gun.
The first shot didn't work so officers had to reload and fire again.
The second shot was effective and the bear fell out of the tree to a soft landing on the mattress.
Conservation officers said its teeth weren't in good shape and it appeared to be favouring its back leg. One officer told CBC News, that a bad tooth will sometimes bring bears in from the wild looking for non-natural food sources.
