Man shot several times near Weston Road and Rogers Road

Homicide investigators are at the scene of a Sunday morning shooting in the Weston Road and Rogers Road area.

Toronto police received reports of a shooting at 5:46 a.m.

After responding, they found a man in his 40s who had been shot several times, including in the torso.

The man was rushed to a trauma centre with life threatening injuries.

Police remain tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Preliminary statistics posted on the police website suggest that Toronto has seen a decrease in the total number of shooting occurrences that have occurred this year compared to last year.
