Stephon Marbury came out of Brooklyn to be a pretty fair basketball player. Fourth overall pick in the 1996 draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, two-time NBA All-Star, averaged 19.6 points per game.
And like another guy from Brooklyn with a keen interest in hoops named Spike Lee, he's expanded his horizons all the way to China and the world of entertainment.
After playing for Milwaukee, Minnesota, New Jersey, Phoenix, the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics, Marbury, now 37, headed for the Chinese Basketball Association in 2010. He's been with the Beijing Ducks of the CBA for the past three seasons, winning two titles.
But he's ventured into new territory in the role of himself in a Chinese play called "I am Marbury."
it's the story of two struggling street musicians who experience many of the ups and downs that Marbury encountered after his starry career as a point guard.
Take a look.
