Charges laid in double stabbing that left man dead, woman injured

A Toronto man faces charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with a double stabbing last week.

Toronto police say that a man and woman were stabbed in a home in the Eglinton Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue area on the evening of Sept. 30.

The injured woman fled to get help, while the man died at the scene.

Police have since identified the deceased as Belo Brandon, a 29-year-old man.

On Sunday, police arrested Alexander Jones, 32, of Toronto. He is charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder.

The accused was due to appear in court on Monday.
