Derek Ralph Thomas accused of robbing 6 banks

A Toronto man is accused of robbing five banks in the city and another in Hamilton over the span of just a few weeks.

Toronto police allege that Derek Ralph Thomas, 52, robbed six banks between Sept. 9 and Oct. 8, either walking or riding a bicycle up to the banks in question.

The last alleged robbery occurred in the Eglinton Avenue West and Caledonia Road area on Wednesday.

Thomas is described as a black male, six feet three inches tall, weighing 175 pounds with tattoos on both his arms.

Police have released a photo of Thomas. They urge anyone who sees him to call police.
