This comes as no surprise to you: big meals equal big indulgences. (Which then often go on to equal bigger sizes of pants.)

With Thanksgiving dinners coming up this weekend, we thought it was due time to face facts and see exactly what kind of caloric damage we're doing to our bodies.

Health coach and nutritionist Justine SanFilippo recommends drinking lots of water to help with the bloating that will inevitably result from your turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie-fest, as well as cooking more of the healthy foods than unhealthy ones — that way, the logic goes, what you have leftover will at least be good for you.

Finally, aim for a dinner that starts somewhere in the afternoon, rather than the evening, so your system has time to digest before you attempt to go to bed.

Check out the calories in traditional Thanksgiving dishes, via the Calorie Control Council, here. And in case you (gulp) don't feel like doing the math, in total, it adds up to 2,795 calories. So, maybe plan a workout for the morning after?
