Sinead O'Connor announced the early 2016 release of her memoirs by revealing she'd be dishing "the sexual dirt on everyone I've ever slept with," though she almost immediately walked the claim .

The Guardian reports the as-yet untitled memoir will be released in March 2016 and move from her childhood through to her latest album I'm Not Bossy, I'm The Boss. The book will be released on Blue Rider Press in the United States, a Penguin Group imprint which has released "Waging Heavy Peace," Neil Young's 2012 memoir.

A press release says the memoir will deal with the singer's "turbulent upbringing in Ireland; her breakout as an artist with 1987's 'The Lion and the Cobra' and her nine subsequent albums; her controversial opinions and actions, as well as her personal and musical struggles and triumphs, through the present day."

Needless to say, the media jumped on the "sexual dirt" quip, however, O'Connor quickly cleared up the comment with a blog post entitled "Dear Everyone I Ever Slept With."

"I've no intention, nor ever had I of dishing the sexual dirt (it mostly wasn't that interesting)," she wrote. "I merely had to come up with a funny quote to attach with the press release for the book. Once I bought a book for my sister, The Book Of Irish Erotic Art. All the pages are blank. Such would be any book about my sex life. Its just hasn't been that exciting. This book is a memoir. Not an autobiography. And to be fair, I've sensibly forgotten 99.999% of anyone I ever slept with anyway!"

News of the memoir comes almost exactly a year after O'Connor and pop star Miley Cyrus became engaged in a war of words. As reported at the time O'Connor wrote an "open letter" to Cyrus stating she was "pimping herself" before adding the music industry would "prostitute you for all you are worth, and cleverly make you think it's what YOU wanted."

Cyrus responded via Twitter with a photo of O'Connor's infamous Saturday Night Live performance where she ripped up a photo of the late Pope John Paul II. O'Connor penned a series of subsequent letters to Cyrus and criticizing her for the pop singer mocking mental illness.

O'Connor will stage a North American tour later this month with multi-night stands in Chicago and New York City. O'Connor also performs at Toronto's Massey Hall on Oct. 24.
