AMT settles out of court with class-action plaintiffs

The AMT, Montreal’s commuter train authority, has settled out of court with a group of claimants over particularly unreliable service in the winter of 2009.

Depending on the number of people who come forward to stake their claim in the settlement, each will receive between $27 and $49 each.

The class-action lawsuit was launched by Pincourt resident Yves Boyer in 2009, after countless delays, mechanical problems and other failures on several of the commuter train lines during January and February 2009.

The class-action lawsuit was scheduled to be heard in court in the late fall.
