It's not just Zara and Urban Outfitters that are selling offensive and racist clothing and accessories.
On Tuesday, Sears was caught selling a silver ring emblazoned with a black swastika on the company's website.
Labeled as "men’s punk rock style" jewelry, the ring's description made it clear that people shouldn't confuse the symbol with Nazis. (Or with the Buddhist meaning, we might add.)
It's "not for neo-Nazi or any Nazi implication," the site read before Sears took down the listing. "These jewelry items are going to make you look beautiful at your next dinner date." Sounds like a recipe for date night success to us (if you're a Neo-Nazi, that is).
Funnily enough, not everyone thought the ring was an innocent way to look good on a date, and many took to Twitter to proclaim their outrage.
As a result, Sears posted an apology, blaming "independent third-party sellers” for the snafu.
"Like many who have connected with our company, we are outraged that more than one of our independent third-party sellers posted offensive items on Sears Marketplace. We sincerely apologize that these items were posted to our site and want you to know that the ring was not posted by Sears, but by independent third-party vendors."
They also apologized to Twitter users.
Spanish retailer Zara faced similar criticism when they were caught selling a kids' shirt that resembled the uniform that Jewish concentration camp prisoners wore during the Holocaust in the Second World War.
