Oshawa GO station closed by suspicious package investigation

A police investigation into a suspicious package has closed the Oshawa GO station Friday. The investigation and subsequent closure has affected service on GO's Lakeshore East line.

Durham Regional Police received a call about a suspicious package at 11:37 a.m. Police tell CBC News there is nothing to indicate that the package contains anything dangerous.

GO Trains will terminate at Whitby station until further notice and GO buses will shuttle passengers between the Whitby and Oshawa stations.

Passengers may still access their vehicles in the Oshawa station parking lot.

The following trains have been affected:

- The Union Station 10:43 - Oshawa GO 11:41 train trip terminated at Whitby.

- The Union Station 11:13 - Oshawa GO 12:11 train trip has terminated at Whitby.

- The Oshawa GO 12:38 - Union Station 13:41 train trip will originate at Whitby.
