Stamkos, Drouin combine for Lightning strike

The Tampa Bay Lightning already had Steve Stamkos, arguably, one of the Top 3 players in the National Hockey League.

When they added Jonathan Drouin as the third overall pick in the 2013 draft after a starry career with Halifax in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League most figured it was only a matter of time before the two were playing on the same line.

A pre-season thumb injury delayed Drouin's NHL debut. After rehabbing with Syracuse in the American Hockey League the talented youngster was called up during the Lightning's five-game road trip.

In his first two starts in the NHL, Drouin had one assist.

But he showed why the Lightning value him so much as he combined with Stamkos for a classic goal early in the first period in Winnipeg Friday night. Take a look

Drouin's first NHL would not be long in coming. In the second period he put one past Jets' goaltender Ondrej Pavelec.

The first of many, no doubt.
