Viger Tunnel work will see lane reductions, nighttime closures

There are more traffic headaches in store for people trying to get around in downtown Montreal.

Work on the westbound Ville-Marie Expressway inside the Viger Tunnel will begin on Monday morning and continue until the end of the year.

Transports Québec crews will remove the sun-shading paralumes, modify the lighting inside the tunnel and repair the walls inside the westbound side of the tunnel.

The work on the tunnel involves closing both directions of the Viger Tunnel overnight between Panet Street and Hotel-de-Ville Avenue.

One westbound lane of the Ville-Marie Expressway will also be closed between Panet and Sanguinet streets.

One lane of Viger Avenue will also be closed between Panet and St-André streets until the end of December.
