WHL Roundup: Wong scores three times as Hurricanes down Raiders 5-2

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Tyler Wong scored three times and Zac Robidoux stopped 31 shots as the Lethbridge Hurricanes beat the visiting Prince Albert Raiders 5-2 on Wednesday in Western Hockey League play.

Jamal Watson and Andrew Nielsen also scored for the Hurricanes (5-9-1), while Carter Folk tacked on three assists.

Marcus Messier and Darcy Zaharichuk supplied the offence for the Raiders (6-9-0) as Nick McBride turned away 29-of-33 shots in defeat.

Lethbridge went 0 for 4 on the power play while Prince Albert failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.



KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Kohl Bauml had a pair of goals and Austin Lotz made 30 saves as Everett beat the Blazers for its third win in a row.

Remi Laurencelle and Carson Stadnyk also scored for the Silvertips (9-1-3).

Logan McVeigh found the back of the net for Kamloops (9-7-1), which got a 25-save performance from Connor Ingram.



SPOKANE, Wash. — Calder Brooks scored once in regulation and added the shootout winner and Garret Hughson made 46 saves as the Chiefs slipped past Edmonton.

Adam Helewka scored twice for Spokane (7-3-3) and assisted on Brooks's goal as well.

Blake Orban, Ashton Sautner and Brett Pollack scored for the Oil Kings (9-3-2), who have earned at least one point in eight straight games. Tristan Jarry turned aside 26 shots in defeat.



VANCOUVER — Tyler Coulter struck twice and Jordan Papirny made 30 saves as Brandon handed the Giants their fourth loss in as many outings.

John Quenneville scored once and set up two more for the Wheat Kings (12-3-1) as Ryan Pilon and Jesse Gabriel added a goal apiece.

Joel Hamilton did all the scoring for Vancouver (6-8-0). Payton Lee allowed four goals on 25 shots before giving way to Cody Porter, who stopped 12-of-13 shots in a period of relief.
