The secret behind Kate Middleton's new chic look is finally out!
According to Vanity Fair, the Duchess of Cambridge has hired a new stylist, formerly her personal assistant.
Natasha Archer, a 27-year-old P.A. at Kensington Palace, has been helping Catherine "shop and experiment with some sophisticated new looks."
The proof, they say, is in the pudding. Kate's recent engagements have seen her wear two glamourous gowns—a sexy sheer Temperley London frock and a leg-baring Jenny Packham gown—and a chic Alexander McQueen coat dress.
This is a new direction for the pregnant duchess, who was ordered by Queen Elizabeth to wear a strict and arguably less fashion-forward wardrobe during her Royal Tour in Australia and New Zealand.
Kate, who is around 14 weeks pregnant with her second baby, wants to be seen as more trendy than she has in the past and "doesn't want to look older than her age." (She's only 32, btw.)
"Initially Kate was a reluctant fashion icon, but now she enjoys it," a source told Vanity Fair. "[Natasha] helps source some of the clothes. She shops a lot for Kate online, and calls in hundreds of dresses for Kate to try on. She has persuaded Kate to take some more risks. The hemlines are shorter and Kate’s really pushing the boat out in the fashion stakes."
We hope Duchess Catherine's riskier wardrobe doesn't anger the Queen!
