Amazon Announces Same-Day Delivery In Vancouver, Toronto

Amazon Same-Day Delivery Coming To Vancouver

Last-minute holiday shopping has never been so easy.

Amazon announced Wednesday it is launching its same-day delivery service in Vancouver and Toronto – starting immediately

Customers can place orders up until noon and receive their goods the same day by 9 p.m., seven days a week, states a company press release. Not all items will be available for same-day delivery, but the company says Vancouverites have hundreds of thousands of options.

“We're constantly working to speed up delivery times and introduce new services that make our customers' lives easier,” Alexandre Gagnon, country manager for Amazon.ca, said in the release.

“With Same-Day Delivery, customers in Toronto and Vancouver can conveniently take care of errands or complete holiday shopping in a day with just a few clicks, receive orders seven days a week and have what they need delivered to their home in a matter of hours.”

The company has released a list of postal codes indicating which neighbourhoods are eligible for the service; the North Shore and some eastern Lowe Mainland suburbs, for example, are not included, reports CBC News.

Same-day delivery could increase the frequency of orders as well as the amount of goods people purchase each order, Solutions Research Group president Kaan Yigit told Business News Network.

It’s where e-commerce is going in this culture of instant everything and everything last minute,” Yigit told the outlet. “Now we can procrastinate until the very last day.”
