How Toronto will mark Remembrance Day 2014

Here's a list of Remembrance Day ceremonies in the Toronto area today.

City of Toronto

- 10:45 a.m. East York Civic Centre Memorial Gardens 850 Coxwell Avenue.

- 10:15 a.m. Etobicoke Civic Centre Cenotaph 399 The West Mall.

- 10:45 a.m. North York Service George Weston Recital Hall at the Toronto Centre for the Arts 5040 Yonge Street.

- 10:45 a.m. Toronto Old City Hall Cenotaph 60 Queen Street West Bay & Queen Streets.

- 10:45 a.m. York Civic Centre York Memorial Collegiate Auditorium 2690 Eglinton Avenue West.

- 10:45 a.m. Fort York National Historic Site/Strachan Avenue Burial Ground 250 Fort York Boulevard.

- 10:45 a.m. Queen's Park front lawn. 111 Wellesley Street West.

- 10:45 a.m. Royal Canadian Legion Scarborough Cenotaph, Kingston Road and Danforth Avenue.

- 10:45 a.m. Memorial Square Cenotaph, Brampton City Hall, 2 Wellington Street West.

- 10:55 Toronto Zoo, Meadowvale Street.


- 10:45 Mississauga Civic Centre Community Memorial Located at the northwest corner of Mississauga Celebration Square 300 City Centre Drive Mississauga, Ontario.


- Normal service but all vehicles will stop for two minutes of silence at 11 a.m. During this time, the following announcement will be made: "The Toronto Transit Commission will now observe a two minute pause in service to reflect on the sacrifices for peace made by Canadians." Buses and streetcars will carry a sign reading "Lest We Forget."

GO Transit

- Veterans and their companions travel free all day today on GO Transit trains and buses.

Other services

- Banks, libraries and government offices will be closed.
