Montreal police suspend 4 more officers for City Hall protest

Montreal Police Chief Marc Parent suspended four more officers Friday in connection with a rowdy protest at City Hall in August.

The suspensions come after four police commanders were also disciplined last month.

Parent said an investigation was conducted, and disciplinary action was taken due to several factors.

"Lack of action and also decision-making. Also behaving and finally, the omission of using the good information to take decisions and take [action] for the intervention," he said.

Parent said the SPVM has made 9 recommendations to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. They include having more managers in the field.
