EDMONTON - Carl Amrhein is the new official administrator for Alberta Health Services.
His job is to oversee governance and decision-making at the health-delivery agency.
Amrhein is accountable to Health Minister Stephen Mandel.
Amrhein was serving his third term as provost and vice-president academic at the University of Alberta.
Janet Davidson, who had been in the administrator role, is returning to her position as deputy minister at Alberta Health.
The government appointed an official administrator at Alberta Health Services in 2013 to act in place of a board of directors.
