Man charged in stabbing at Mississauga restaurant

A man has been charged in a stabbing that occurred at a combination Tim Hortons/Wendy's restaurant in Mississauga last Friday.

Peel Regional Police had been seeking a suspect who is alleged to have approached a man who was seated with friends and then stabbed him before "casually" exiting the restaurant at Britannia Road and Terry Fox Way.

The suspect was reported to have headed toward a townhouse complex on Britannia Road after the stabbing.

A description of the suspect was released Sunday and an arrest was announced the following day.

Police say that a 21-year-old Mississauga man is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

The accused is due to appear in court on Tuesday.
