Firefighters battle 3-alarm blaze at Riverdale home

Firefighters are battling a three-alarm fire in Riverdale this morning.

It began just after 4 a.m. at a home at Pape Avenue and Withrow Avenue and spread to at least one other residence.

The roof of one of the homes has collapsed. There's no word yet on any injuries.

The Riverdale fire wasn't the only one in the city last night. A fire in the in the west end just after 1 a.m. forced a family of
five from their home near Martingrove Road and Steeles Avenue West.

The third blaze was downtown, on Queen Street West near McCaul Street where
a fire broke out in a convenience store below some apartments.
