Remember how upset Beyonce got when she played that Super Bowl halftime show because the photographers caught all her fierce facial expressions on camera?

Well, Queen Bey might be all about control, but young Lorde is all about being herself, which is why she's even spoken out about magazines Photoshopping her acne off which most other teenagers would be happy about.

Lorde continued that attitude at the American Music Awards where she unselfconsciously displayed facial expressions that were alternately silly, sweet embarrassing and badass.

She may not have taken home any awards, but thanks to her epic "Yellow Flicker Beat" performance and innate ability to be real even in front of cameras, Lorde walked out a winner.
