Hockey Canada to unveil roster for world junior camp Monday

Hockey Canada will reveal the players invited to the Canadian world junior selection camp on Monday, the organization announced.

The camp takes place in mid-December ahead of the 2015 world junior championship to be held in Toronto and Montreal.

Canada, seeking its first world junior title since 2009, begins the tournament against Slovakia on Dec. 26 at the Bell Centre.

All eyes will be on the availability of Erie Otters phenom Connor McDavid, who broke a bone in his right hand during a fight more than two weeks ago. McDavid is expected to miss five to six weeks, which puts his return right on line with Canada’s first game, but whether he’ll be ready to play remains in question.

Hockey Canada must finalize its roster for the tournament Dec. 25.
