Truck gets stuck in sinkhole on Bloor Street West

A truck got stuck in a sink hole on Bloor Street today.

The driver, who declined to provide his name or go on camera for CBC News, said he was pulling up with a delivery of steel trusses to a construction in the 200 block of Bloor Street West when the pavement beneath his front right tire collapsed.

The incident occurred adjacent to a storm drain, though a CBC cameraman on scene said there was no signs of water in the hole.

Toronto Fire Services was unaware of the sinkhole, but said it is sending an inspector from the city works department to investigate. The sinkhole may be threatening the integrity of the sidewalk, which is a concern, it said.
