Austrians Fenninger, Puchner are fastest in downhill training for World Cup at Lake Louise

LAKE LOUISE, Alta. - Austrians Anna Fenninger and Mirjam Puchner were fastest and U.S. star Lindsey Vonn was 13th in the final training run for the season-opening World Cup women's downhill on Thursday.

Fenninger was timed in 1 minute, 50.29 seconds and Puchner in 1:50.69. Americans Stacey Cook, Julia Mancuso and Laurenne Ross were third to fifth, respectively.

Vonn's last World Cup was last December in Val d'Isere, France, where she failed to finish a downhill.

The first two women's downhills of the World Cup season are on Friday and Saturday followed by Sunday's super-G.
