Fill up today as GTA gas prices hit 4-year low

If you need to fill up on gas, try to get to the station today.

Gas prices in the GTA hit a four-year low after dropping two cents overnight.

- ANALYSIS |  Oil price decline could lead to global shocks

The average price across the GTA on Wednesday was about 109.9 cents per litre, but is now sitting at 107.9 cents per litre.

On this same date last year, the price at the pumps was 127.8 cents per litre.

The relief comes as the price of oil continues to drop globally following an announcement by OPEC last week that the group would not cease production, despite an estimated glut of about 2 million barrels per day.

Dan McTeague, a senior petroleum analyst with and founder of Tomorrow's Gas Price Today, told CBC News last week that he expects prices to stay low throughout the winter, possibly into next spring.
