Community mourns Zahra Mohamoud Abdille and sons at packed funeral

People were lined up to attend the funeral services for Zahra Mohamoud Abdille and her two school-aged sons, Faris and Zain, after their bodies were discovered in their Thorncliffe apartment last week.

The funerals were held at a Toronto mosque on Friday.

The deaths have shocked the community. The schools the young boys attended flew their flags at half-mast this week, while more than 100 friends, family and neighbours attended a vigil for the slain family on Tuesday.

Police found the bodies inside their apartment at 85 Thorncliffe Park Dr. last Saturday. A man identified as Abdille's husband and the boys' father threw himself off the Leaside Bridge onto the Don Valley Parkway on the same day. Police are still investigating whether he may have had any role in the homicides.
