3 people in hospital after car slides underneath truck

A serious crash in Toronto's east end sent three people to hospital on Sunday.

A car and a transport truck entered the intersection of Pharmacy and Eglinton Avenues at the same time just after 2 a.m., according to police. The car then hit the back of the trailer, sliding underneath and sheering off the roof of the car.

Police are investigating which driver ran the red light. They also say that alcohol may have played a factor in the crash, and charges are pending against the driver of the car.
