Montreal police officer faces death threat, domestic violence charges

A sergeant-detective with the Montreal police was arrested earlier this week on allegations of domestic violence and making several death threats, including against Municipal Affairs Minister Pierre Moreau.

He was arrested on Montreal's North Shore (Couronne Nord).

The officer allegedly made threats to several people during a domestic dispute, sources tell CBC/Radio-Canada.

The alleged threat to Moreau was made indirectly.

A source with the Montreal police told Radio-Canada the officer may have a mental illness.
