Man dies after being found with gunshot wound in Anjou

A man in his 50s died Friday morning after being found with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

The man had been shot in the upper body around 2 a.m. ET on Friday.

Montreal police officers found the man in his vehicle stopped on Louis-H-Lafontaine Boulevard near Larrey Street in Anjou.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he died.

Const. Anie Lemieux of Montreal police said the investigation will affect traffic in the area on Friday morning.

Louis-H-Lafontaine Boulevard is closed northbound at Bombardier Street to Henri-Bourassa Boulevard, and Highway 25 North's Henri-Bourassa Boulevard exit is also closed.

Police are still searching for suspects.

It is the 26th homicide of 2014 on the island of Montreal.
